Chromevolt’s management team comprises three professionals (67% female) including Chris Linus – MD/CEO, Iember Anusa – Finance Director and Joan Avong – Legal Director, with over 25 years of combined experience in renewable energy, energy distribution, telecoms, finance, data analytics and legal consulting. The company has a multi-disciplinary and gender-balanced team comprising 16 full-time employees (42% female) with expertise in engineering, technical operations, marketing and customer relations.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS TO DATE
In 2019, Chromevolt partnered with the Access to Energy Institute (A2EI) to conduct market research that informed the design of SSPU and SHS systems tailored to Nigeria. Since then, the company has deployed over 1,250 systems across 16 states, mainly in North Central Nigeria, with a combined capacity exceeding 1.5 MW. It also operates a 100kW energy-as-a-service solution supporting over 200 MSMEs in a market in Abuja.
Chromevolt has recorded strong financial performance, generating NGN 1.6 billion in revenue over the past three years. Its portfolio remains healthy, with a 90% repayment rate and less than 5% default. In 2025, the company electrified 75 Primary Health Care facilities under a HETA-funded project. Chromevolt is also part of a three-company consortium working with the Nigerian Power for Health Initiative (NPHI) to develop a national framework for healthcare electrification, funded by UKPACT-FCDO.
PROBLEM / OPPORTUNITY
A large proportion of MSMEs, households, and healthcare facilities in Nigeria lack reliable electricity or experience frequent outages. As a result, many depend on fossil fuel generators, consuming significant volumes of fuel daily. This leads to high operating costs, making businesses less sustainable, while also contributing to environmental pollution and health risks.
SOLUTION / EXECUTION PLAN
Chromevolt addresses this challenge by deploying certified 2–5 kVA standalone solar generators with 5–15 kWh lithium-ion batteries to power critical loads. Systems are sourced from trusted partners and adapted for PayGo and remote monitoring where needed.
The company offers three payment models:
• Upfront purchase
• Lease-to-own (12–24 months with 30% upfront)
• Energy-as-a-service (pay-per-use)
Chromevolt provides maintenance, repairs, and at least two years of after-sales support, with a 48-hour response time. The company aims to deploy 3,000 additional systems over five years and requires approximately USD 1 million in debt and grant funding to scale.
