Frederik Klinke

Frederik Klinke is CEO for APM Terminals Nigeria. As CEO and Country Managing Director, Nigeria, Frederik is an integral member of the Africa & Europe Regional Leadership Team for APM Terminals, based in Lagos. He is responsible for the terminal in Apapa and the West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) at Onne, ensuring the lifting standards of efficiency, responsibility, connectivity, and reliability for customers and partners. Frederik represents APM Terminals on the boards of most container terminals in West Africa.

In his role, and as Vice President of the European Business Chamber (EuroCham), Nigeria, Frederik is a committed champion of trade, investment, and collaboration. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Copenhagen University and a strategic finance degree from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Geneva, in addition to leadership courses at Esade Business School in Spain.

Frederik began his career as an Army officer with the Danish armed forces before a stint with the country’s Ministry of Defence. A seasoned logistics professional, Frederik embarked on his corporate career first with Maersk Line and Damco Logistics Asia-Pacific in managerial and senior leadership roles before joining APM Terminals as Chief Financial Officer in Tangier, Morocco, followed by a similar role in Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) before joining the APM Terminals HQ in The Hague. In 2017, Frederik took over as Managing Director for Douala International Container Terminal (DIT) in Cameroon, followed by senior regional management roles based in Dubai before assuming his current position.
